Wedding Inspiration // DIY Will You be My Bridesmaids Cards

  • For our crafty brides & followers, we have prepared a special little treat for you this Wednesday: a DIY project from Once Wed with Kate’s own spin, taken straight from her personal wedding plans & prep!

    We hope you enjoy this crafty treat….

    When I [Kate] first began collecting wedding ideas & started thinking through my wedding dreams, a few things stood out: A fun gathering with friends & families through which encouragement & our love for each other would be shared, a wedding dress designed & created with my mom that would reflect my personal style as only she could, and handmade details that I would enjoy spending time on & the would reflect my love of design. James & I are lovers of travel & have our hearts captivated by the Chinese, so when considering spending any great amount of money on our wedding, we both decided it would be best to stay focused on the highlights & leave the traditional wedding plans behind. So, I say, let the Do It Yourself magic begin!

    This DIY project was the first of many that I will be working on with my friends & family to bring about this dream of handmade details carefully placed throughout our wedding day plans. I will showcase these projects through our blog occasionally, as well as share in some of the details of planning as we move along towards our February wedding date.

    This hand-made project was found on Once Wed, made by Ana of Rifle Design.

    Here is my personal take on these adorable [& formal] “Will You Be My Bridesmaid?” cards.  { On a personal note: I sent them to my lovely lady friends a few weeks ago & they were SO well received! }

    I didn’t quite have my color palette picked out when I began making my cards, so I picked a neutral that I knew would play into my eventual palette. I knew I wanted neutral colors & would be incorporating burlap & linens into the wedding details, so I chose a blushed beige for the cards. [side note: I tend to be a little bit of a non-traditionalist so my ladies will not be matching, but I loved the cards too much to change them :)]

    My lovely friend Heidi & I laughed our way through creating the card insert and writing a personal poem for my girls.

    I hope you enjoyed!

    Take a DIY project and make it your own, it’s worth the time :)

    Much Love,

    Kate
